Upon moving into the house, the Lutz family soon noticed strange occurrences. The Amityville Horror quickly took hold of their daily lives, with cold spots appearing throughout the house, despite the heat being on. The family heard disturbing voices and experienced an overwhelming sense of dread.

Apparitions and Shadowy Figures

The Lutzes reported seeing ghostly figures, including a demonic apparition with glowing red eyes. The Amityville Horror intensified as the family claimed to witness shadowy figures moving through the house. The presence of these dark entities left them terrified and uncertain of what was happening in the house.

The Dog’s Disturbing Behavior

Even the family dog, Harry, seemed to be affected by the haunting. The pet reportedly refused to go near certain areas of the house and exhibited signs of distress. This only fueled the Lutz family's fear, reinforcing their belief that something malevolent haunted the property.

Fleeing the Amityville Horror

The Lutz family couldn’t endure the terrifying experiences any longer. After only 28 days in the house, they fled in fear, leaving behind their belongings.
